Gero-psychiatric Treatment
The Geropsychiatric Inpatient Unit is a secure area providing intensive assessment and treatment for patients suffering from acute psychiatric disorders, who may also experience intellectual and memory impairments and aging-related difficulties. After completion of the assessment and when it is determined that maximum hospital benefit has been achieved, the staff makes every effort to assist the patient/family to place the patient in the appropriate level of care. The staff also assists patients and families to identify and obtain resources in the community for post-hospitalization care.
