The Geropsychiatric Inpatient Unit is a secure area providing intensive assessment and treatment for patients suffering from acute psychiatric disorders, who may also experience intellectual and memory impairments and aging related difficulties.

After completion of the assessment and when it is determined that maximum hospital benefit has been achieved, the staff make every effort to assist the patient/family to place the patient in the appropriate level of care.  The staff also assists patients and families to identify and obtain resources in the community for post hospitalization care.
